Reindexing

A growing demand from the private sector for electronic access to public records that spans 40 years, 60 years and more is driving public officials into action.  

One action-plan officials are using to expand their searchable database is electronically creating the indexes that were previously maintained in handwritten or type written form.  This is where Cott’s reindexing service can deliver.  To meet our customer’s particular goals we will develop a scope of work that will  either involve abstracting index information from the actual legal instrument or creating the electronic index from the manual “legacy” index.  Our Project Managers and data entry specialists understand the unique requirements necessary to create indexes that are accurate and reliable.  Data is entered and key verified to produce the highest accuracy possible.  The project is completed by successfully developing, testing and executing an import of the reindexed data into your Cott provided land records management system.  If you currently have another software provider, Cott will create the index data based on the specifications required by your provider.
